Freeport LNG is proud to be an integral part of the Quintana and broader Brazosport communities. As part of its long-term commitment to the region and the people who live here, Freeport LNG actively supports a number of local civic and humanitarian organizations through donations, volunteer efforts of its employees and contractors and through charitable contributions.

The organizations that Freeport LNG has recently supported include:

  • In 2013, Freeport LNG pledged $20,000 to Brazosport College to fund scholarships for local students.
  • Over the past five years, Freeport LNG has contributed more than $500,000 to local charitable organizations.
  • Freeport LNG funds LNG fire training for Freeport Fire Department personnel and works closely with them in emergency planning and preparedness. This effort involves other local first responders, such as the Freeport Police Department, Brazoria County Sheriff’s Department and U.S. Coast Guard, in conducting various emergency drills throughout the year using the National Incident Management System (NIMS).
  • Freeport LNG employees serve the community by volunteering their time and talents to local community nonprofit organizations and clubs, and by supporting and participating in a variety of community events. One of the more notable events that occurs "close to home" is the bi-annual beach clean-up and annual Dunes Day event.

In addition to our efforts to strengthen the municipalities around us, we are also deeply involved in the activities of the business community in the region. Freeport LNG holds active memberships in local business and industry organizations and supports them through the time and talents of its employees.

We look forward to continuing to extend our helping hands through support of local charities and groups, businesses, and the area communities.

From its inception in early 2001, the Freeport LNG project has provided a positive contribution to the local community, the Brazosport area, Brazoria County, and the State of Texas. During engineering and construction, and even more so now when the terminal is in operation, we have supported the community in which we reside.
Freeport LNG representatives have been regularly meeting with numerous stakeholders: local, county, state and federal agencies, area business owners, real estate interests, Port Freeport, school districts and other entities in continued efforts to determine how we can best contribute.
Freeport LNG management’s philosophy is to utilize local sources for many of our needs including local contractors, goods and services, and employees. And Freeport LNG encourages its employees to support local charities, non-profit organizations, and other local causes.
Our efforts are focused on providing support for programs that develop and strengthen families, educate children and assist those with physical or mental handicaps, the elderly and the economically underprivileged. Freeport LNG is also a strong supporter of environmental conservation and participant in the emergency response network in the large Freeport area.
