Community Involvement

Committed to Our Community

We Actively Build Community.

At Freeport LNG, we contribute to the community by giving back. We have a solid foundation and continue to build a reputation as a credible, accountable and trustworthy organization, one day at a time. We are doing it together with the people in the communities around us, especially here in Quintana, Freeport and the wider Brazosport area.

Freeport LNG has donated millions of dollars to charitable causes to support education, health, arts and sciences. What is more telling is the active role we take in society. Our employees have invested many volunteer hours in the community in order to make an even larger impact. Freeport LNG's corporate citizenship program brings together initiatives under the following themes:

Education and Workforce Development Growing a vibrant, effective workforce starts with educating our youth. We are working to ensure that the upcoming workforce begins with quality educational experiences. We have partnered with area school districts, both private and public, and have a long-standing relationship with Brazosport College. Through these partnerships we would like to promote the well-being of future generations.

Emergency Responder Services Safety is always a primary focus in the region and industry, which means we work closely with our potential first responders. Freeport LNG not only funds LNG fire training for Freeport Fire Department personnel; we also cooperate with them in emergency planning and preparedness. With the Fire Department, Freeport Police Department, Brazoria County Sheriff’s Department and U.S. Coast Guard, we conduct various emergency drills throughout the year using the National Incident Management System (NIMS).

Community Impact through Improving Quality of Life Food, clothing, shelter and financial stability are all areas of concern for the underprivileged. At Freeport LNG, we are focused on opportunities to offer aid to those in the most critical need. We support local United Way organizations through our annual employee campaign, with the company matching employee contributions dollar for dollar.

Access to Quality Health Care We are working to make sure that community citizens, including our own employees and their families in Brazoria County, have access to the highest-quality facilities and services.

Corporate Matching Gifts Freeport LNG supports the nonprofit organizations that our employees feel strongly about by matching employees' personal charitable donations dollar for dollar, up to a maximum of $5,000 per employee per year.

From partnering with elementary school students in the study of native dunes grasses and beach ecology to implementing training plans with local police and fire departments for emergency preparedness, Freeport LNG continues to be a steadfast advocate for its local community and the environment.
